Get to know Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon Dr. Hannah Copeland, who serves patients in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

As a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon, Dr. Copeland cares for patients who require all aspects of advanced cardiovascular procedures up to and including heart transplant. She is experienced in cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and cardiac critical care medicine. In May of 2020, she joined Lutheran Heart Physicians after serving on the cardiac surgery team at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Alongside her clinical role, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine – Fort Wayne. At the start of her academic career, Dr. Copeland graduated with her medical degree from the  University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine in 2006. She then went on to perform her residency in general surgery at the University of California at San Diego, her residency in cardiothoracic surgery at Loma Linda University, and her fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery transplant at Indiana University.
